Job Summary :
Roles and Responsibilities:
MS SQL Admin, Database Administration
Skill & Job Requirements: –>Database Administration(L1)-Entry
level position.
Works under close supervision to perform low-leveldatabase management tasks
such as adding users, managing space etc.
Participates in testing back-ups, ensuring maximum up-time and maximum performance
of database.
Familiarity with basic administrative commands isexpected at this level.
Front-line interaction with users to assist with low level trouble-shooting
requirements.
–>MS SQL Admin(L1)-
Have Knowledge on SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Architecture (Physical DatabaseStructure,
Logical Database Structure, and Memory Structures etc), TSQLCommands. Monitoring
& Troubleshooting Blocking and Deadlock (Be able to killBlocked or deadlock
process, spid).
Startup and Shutdown SQL server InstanceExecution of DBCC Commands (OPENTRAN
(DBName) , SQLPERF(LOGSPACE) , checkdb ,shrinkfile , shrinkdatabase , indexdefrag
, dbreindex, etc) Create and updatemaintenance plan for database maintenance.
Monitor and understand the error logand event log Monitor the disk space on
the server and take action accordingly(Including Data files, Transaction log
files, tempdb database).
Understand howconnectivity is established between servers (Remote Access –Connecting
remoteserver using QA, EM, and TS) Managing DB backups.
Restoring database fromFull/Differential/T-log backup. SQL Server 2000 / 2005

Qualification: Bachelors Degree
Experience: Freshers
Skills: Entry level position. Works
on allocated incidents/ problems on maintenance of hardware / software –
servers, laptops, PCs etc. with high degree of supervision. Provides support
for simple trouble shooting requirements. May be required to work as on-call
support of in shifts to provide 24×7 type of support.
